NATIONAL PROJECT

A National Project was established in 1985 to promote many issues through activities on campus and in the community.  At the 2002 Mortar Board National Conference, the literacy project “Reading is Leading” was made the permanent National Project.  Past projects include: organ donor awareness, AIDS awareness, women’s issues and children’s issues.

Since our national project this year is “Reading is Leading”, anything that goes along with this theme will go towards your Red Tassel hours as well as other projects that we intend to do.  It is important to stimulate the minds of children and allow them to be creative- they are the future generations of the world!  Therefore, it is one of our main duties to promote literacy among children through service projects around the Bloomington-Normal area.
